Thai massage parlors have their own set of unspoken rules that can make or break your experience. From the tipping etiquette to how you’re expected to behave with the staff, there’s a lot that doesn’t get mentioned upfront. So, what are the unwritten rules you’ve learned from your visits to Thai massage parlors? Anything you wish you knew before walking in? Let’s share our insights.

Number one rule: don’t assume anything is included — always ask politely. Just because you’re in Thailand doesn’t mean every massage ends in a happy one. Respect the girl's boundaries, and read the room. Tip up front if you want better treatment, but don’t wave money in her face like a king — it’s a turnoff. If you want extras, ask discreetly after the massage starts. And always shower before the action — hygiene matters. You’ll be surprised how far good manners and clean skin can take you in a Thailand massage parlor.

Keep your hands respectful until she invites more. Yes, it’s a sensual service, but groping too soon can kill the mood. Another big one: no photos, no phones. These girls value privacy, and any sign of filming will get you banned. Don’t haggle aggressively — you’re not in a market. If a girl quotes 1,500 and you offer 1,000, she’ll feel disrespected. Always clarify whether it’s full service, BJ only, or HJ — and confirm if the condom is required. These rules aren’t written on the walls, but they shape your experience more than you realize.

One big unwritten rule? Don’t act like it’s a porn scene. Keep your hands to yourself unless the girl clearly invites more. Just because it’s Thailand doesn’t mean you can grab or demand things upfront. Also—don’t start negotiating services out loud if you’re in a shared room or semi-public space. That gets you blacklisted fast. Tip respectfully, don’t be a cheapass, and never assume extras are automatic just because someone smiled. Play it cool, read the vibe, and you’ll usually get more than if you act like a desperate clown.
