So Where Should You Actually Go?
Ninety names are not necessarily more useful than five good choices.
If this is your first Nuru massage in Bangkok, I would keep things simple and stay around Phrom Phong, Asoke or Lower Sukhumvit.
Phrom Phong gives you the greatest density. Soi 22, 24, 26, 31 and 33 contain so many parlors that you are not trapped if your first choice is busy, the available staff do not appeal to you, or the price is higher than expected.
Asoke is better if your hotel is near Terminal 21, Soi Cowboy or the MRT. You have choices on Soi 16, 18, 19 and 23 without travelling far.
Soi 11 makes sense if you want to combine massage with bars, restaurants and nightlife. Dragon Heart and Heaven Prime are both in that area.
Thonglor and Ekkamai have good options, but there is little reason for a first time visitor staying near Nana or Asoke to cross town just because one photograph online caught his attention.

What Does Nuru Massage Mean in Bangkok?
A proper Nuru massage is a body to body massage performed with a very slippery gel, traditionally associated with Japanese Nuru massage, on a surface designed to handle the gel.
That sounds simple until you start comparing Bangkok menus.
Some parlors offer a straightforward Nuru session on a waterproof mat.
Some add a shower.
Some combine Nuru with a Jacuzzi or bathtub.
Some offer oil massage and Nuru as completely separate packages.
Some use the word Nuru rather loosely for any slippery lotion body to body massage.
And some places have discovered that putting Nuru in the business name attracts more attention than calling themselves an erotic massage parlor.
For the customer, the terminology matters less than the physical setup and the package.
Before booking, ask:
Is this Nuru gel on a mat?
How many minutes is the complete session?
Is the room included?
Is the Jacuzzi included or an upgrade?
What is the total price?
Those questions will tell you more than ten paragraphs of marketing language.
Nuru Is Not the Same as Soapy Massage
These two terms are increasingly placed beside each other, but they are not interchangeable.
Nuru usually revolves around slippery gel and body to body contact on a waterproof surface.
Soapy massage traditionally involves a wetter bathing or foam based experience and is historically associated with Bangkok’s larger bathhouse style massage establishments.
Modern Sukhumvit parlors have blurred the boundary. You will now find Nuru with Jacuzzi, soapy with body to body massage, Nuru in shower rooms and packages combining several styles.
That is why choosing by the name alone is a mistake.
If what you specifically want is the slippery mat based Nuru experience, say so.
What Does Nuru Massage Cost in Bangkok?
For a proper Nuru session in the central Sukhumvit foreigner market, roughly 2,500 to 3,500 baht is a realistic starting range.
You can find cheaper offers.
You can also spend 4,000, 5,000 or considerably more at premium establishments, particularly when Jacuzzi rooms, longer sessions, premium staff or more elaborate packages are involved.
Current menus illustrate the range well.
Cupid lists its standard 60 minute Nuru gel package around 2,700 baht and its Jacuzzi Nuru package around 3,200 baht. Elle lists Nuru from around 2,600 baht in a standard shower room, with more expensive VIP bath room choices. Queen currently lists Nuru gel packages around 2,700 baht for 60 minutes, while Bonita lists its Nuru mat option around the same general level.
The important point is not whether one shop is 300 baht cheaper.
The important point is whether you are comparing the same thing.
A 2,500 baht standard room package and a 3,500 baht Jacuzzi Nuru package are not necessarily evidence that one parlor is expensive. They may simply be different products.
Never Ask Only “How Much?”
This is probably the most useful habit you can develop when booking adult massage in Bangkok.
Do not send:
“How much Nuru?”
Send something closer to:
“What is the total price for 60 minutes of Nuru, including the room?”
Now you have something useful.
If there are different room categories, ask what changes between them.
If a parlor advertises a suspiciously low starting price, find out what that price actually buys.
Bangkok massage menus love the phrase “starting from.”
Your wallet should love the phrase “total price.”
Do You Need to Book Nuru Massage in Advance?
Usually not if you simply want a massage and do not care who is available.
You can walk into many Sukhumvit parlors and choose from whoever is working.
Advance contact becomes much more useful when you want a particular therapist, a particular room, a Jacuzzi package, two therapists, or a late appointment.
LINE is enormously important in Bangkok. WhatsApp, Telegram and WeChat are also common depending on the clientele of the shop.
A useful message is short:
“Are you open?”
