We’ve all got them — those little moves that get better treatment, avoid awkwardness, or squeeze more fun out of a night without spending triple.

Maybe it’s how you order drinks.
Maybe it’s where you sit, or when you tip.
Maybe it’s how you signal the mamasan — or how you dodge her completely.

So let’s spill:
What are your top 3 gogo bar tricks?
Could be slick. Could be sneaky. Could be totally obvious but weirdly effective.

No judgments. No gatekeeping. Just tradecraft.

Alright, here’s what’s worked for me over the years:

1. Sit near the bar, not the stage.
Girls can still spot you, but you’re not in the “must-tip-every-rotation” zone. Gives you more control and time to watch the vibe.

2. Tip early — but small.
A quick 100 baht early in the night goes a long way. It doesn’t break the bank, but it shows you’re not a Cheap Charlie. Gets the staff and girls more relaxed around you.

3. Never barfine the first girl who grabs you.
Give it at least 20 minutes. That “super hot” girl who rushes you at the door might be the most burned-out one in the lineup. Watch how they interact with each other and the staff — the quieter ones are often better in the room.

Your turn — let’s compare notes.

Here’s my playbook:

  1. Arrive at 8:30 PM before it gets packed—you’ll get better girl attention.

  2. Buy the first drink, but don’t sip too fast—you want to stay planted without committing to more rounds.

  3. Watch how the girls behave offstage. The ones dancing like strippers but texting in the corner right after? Skip. Look for the girl who’s still playful even off-duty. That’s the one to sit with.

I always bring small bills. Nothing ruins a mood like fumbling around with 1,000s while buying a lady drink. Also, don’t be afraid to say no. The girls respect a guy with some restraint—it makes you stand out from the drunk tourists who say yes to everything. Lastly, if you want to take a girl out, make eye contact early in the night and signal interest. Waiting too long means someone else will swoop in.

  • Sit near the exit — easier to leave if it sucks.

  • Ask the girl what nights she doesn’t like working — those are when she’s usually hornier.

  • Order one lady drink at a time. She’ll still grind on you for 20 minutes trying to earn another.

1) Arrive early for free entry or happy hour, 2) Don’t wear cologne—the girls love your natural scent, 3) Compliment the mamasan—it’ll boost your stock instantly.

My tricks: Buy one lady drink first, see her attitude. Always sit by the stage—not the pole—better interaction. And never flash big cash, it draws sharks.

Most regrets in Thailand start with just one more drink.
